The Vario-Mix is equipped with a photocell or bar and sensor which sends a signal to the VVC (Verba Feed Computer). The VVC checks whether there is a wait time and then discharges a portion of feed immediately, or after the wait time has expired. As the VVC is equipped with a feed curve that can be programmed, the correct amount of feed per group of sows per day is guaranteed. Owing to the patented wait time and the discharge of small portions, optimal absorption and digestion of the feed in the sow’s sto-mach is ensured. This gives the animals a satisfied feeling and keeps them calm. A maximum of 40 Vario-Mix units can be linked to the VVC (additional information can be found at the VVC-section). By placing several feeders in the pen, the groups can be divided easily.
